Day 1 - Arrival in Sofia

Arrival at Sofia airport. Meet and greet by your Bulgarian guide. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 2 Sofia - Boyana Church - Rila Monastery - Sofia

After breakfast, the car and travel notes will be delivered to your hotel. Admire rural Bulgaria on route to the Rila Monastery in the pine-carpeted Rila Mountains. Visit two of Bulgaria’s must-see sights. Rila monastery is the most famous and fascinating monastery in the Balkans, under the UNESCO protection. After time to explore independently, continue to Boyana Church, to marvel at its spectacular pre- Renaissance frescoes. Overnight in Sofia. Transfer: 3 hours 40 min / 233 km

Day 3 Sofia – Koprivshtitsa - Plovdiv

After breakfast departure for Plovdiv by the Rhodope routes, bordered by picturesque landscapes. Pass by the village-museum of Koprivshtitsa on the road. Koprivshtitsa is a small town situated in a picturesque valley among the mountains in the central part of Bulgaria. Day 4 - Plovdiv - Bachkovo Monastery - Assen's Fortress - Kazanlak

Day 5 Kazanlak – Valley of roses – Shipka pass – Sokolovo monastery

Day 6 Etara - Tryavna – Bozhentsi

Visit Etara, the only open-air museum site, representing 18th century and 19th century Bulgarian lifestyles and crafts. The complex is home to more than 50 different sites: craft workshops, waterworks and other buildings. Walk through the small cobbled streets, the stone fountains, and the old houses. Real-time observation of master craftsmen at work. Departure to the small town of Tryavna, an artisanal center of woodcarving. At an altitude of 440 m, the city is at the foot of the northern slope of the Balkan massif (Stara planina). Visit the Museum of Icons of the School of Tryavna. Day 7 Bozhentsi - Veliko Tarnovo – Arbanassi

Free day to explore Veliko Tarnovo, the cultural centre of northern Bulgaria. Dubbed the City of the Tsars because of its crowning as the capital during the reign of the Second Bulgarian Empire, it was home to several of Bulgaria's former monarchs. The houses of the old town are like withe birds on the cliff side above Yantra river and create a magnificent view. Day 8 Veliko Tarnovo - Troyan – Apriltsi

After breakfast, visit Troyan and the unique National Exhibition of Popular and Artistic Craft located in the village of Oreshak. This is the only exhibition in the country, which has gathered all the works of Bulgarian artists of all ethnographic regions in Bulgaria in one place.
